Senehasa Senior Home is a care home in Baddegama, Sri Lanka, for elderly people without family support.
Currently, 35 older adults reside there, enjoying their later years in a peaceful and caring environment. Together with the Dutch care organization Sevagram, Vebego Foundation helped build four residential units, construct a perimeter wall, and install fencing around the property.
In 2011, participants of Vebego’s Strategic Management Course worked with local stakeholders to develop sustainable business plans, tailored to local needs and opportunities. One key outcome was the decision by the home’s board to establish a nearby farm, helping to secure long-term financial support.
Four years later, Senehasa Senior Home became a model facility in the southern region of Sri Lanka, officially recognized by the government.
