Sven Bloem on the partnership with Humanitas: 'It's an inventation to act'
As of September 1, Vebego Foundation is working together with Humanitas Netherlands - a nationwide volunteer organization that helps people find the strength to improve their own situation. Board member Sven Bloem explains why this partnership aligns so well with the foundation's mission and what colleagues can expect.
A shared mission
‘Vebego Foundation wants to give disadvantaged children and young people a better future, with projects focused on education, care and work’, Sven says. ‘Humanitas fits perfectly with that: they provide low-threshold, personal support. That’s exactly what Vebego Foundation stands for. Together, we can create even more impact.'
According to Sven, Humanitas complements the partnerships already in place in the Netherlands. ‘With Sam& for all children, Leergeld Foundation, and other partners, we already support children and families. Humanitas completes the network and gives colleagues even more opportunities to make a difference.’

Commitment that inspires
What struck Sven during the preparation phase was the passion of the people at Humanitas. ‘You can feel they truly work from the heart. Just like us, they believe that small, direct actions - like offering a listening ear or a simple chat - can make a world of difference.’
What does this mean for colleagues?
For Vebego colleagues, this partnership opens new doors. ‘It’s a great opportunity to actively contribute yourself. You can volunteer, help shape projects, or give someone in your network that extra push forward. Together, we strengthen what we as a foundation - and as colleagues - can achieve.'

Sven stresses why this issue matters so deeply to him: ‘Inequality and social vulnerability are often invisible. By paying extra attention to this, we show that we see the person behind the situation. Everyone deserves the chance to grow, to be seen, and to be supported.’
