Relief and peace of mind for Faiza and her family
In this story, Faiza Azizullah shares her heartfelt experience with Sam& for all children and Vebego Foundation. She opens up about her family, the financial challenges they've faced, and the welcome support that made a real difference in their lives.
Some time ago, Faiza's husband, who works at Hago Zorg, attended an information session at work where the Vebego Foundation presented their initiatives - including their partnership with Sam& for all children. When he came home, he shared the hoeful news that support might be available for their family. "The information he brought back clearly explained how the foundation could help a family like ours", says Faiza. "After reaching out to Josine Dekker from Vebego Foundation, she personally came by to get to know us. And that's how our journey with Sam& for all children began."
A wave of relief
"When we heard that help was available, we felt increadibly relived", Faiza says. "My husband only moved from Afghanistan in September 2021 and had just started a Dutch language course. Luckily, a few months later he was able to start working at Hago Zorg. I work in healthcare too, but after our son was born, I could only work two days a week. Every month is a financial challenge, and with today's prices it's even harder. The support from Sam& and the Vebego Foundation means te world to our family.
“The support from Sam& and the Vebego Foundation truly means the world to our family."
From baby wipes to bedding
The support they received included everything their son needed at that moment. "From diapers and baby wipes to a crib and bedding. They even found a stroller on Marktplaats and arranged a breast pump for when I was at work. "In addition, the family received extra baby formula and second-hand clothing. Faiza lights up when she talks about the support. Josine visited them again in September, which gives Faiza comfort: "I know I can always reach out if we need help again. That brings peace into our lives!"
Take that step
For anyone who's still unsure about reaching out to Vebego Foundation, Faiza has a clear message: "I would definitely recommend it - especially if you're struggling financially and want the best for your child. Just take that step and let go of any shame. It's absolutely worth it." And it's important to know: all support is completely anonymous. Only Josine Dekker and the relevant partner organisation are aware - your managers or colleagues will not be informed.
