Jarige Job turns 15: a celebration for thousands of children

Picture this: hundreds of people in colorful tracksuits, party music over the speakers, stacks of boxes. All with one goal: making birthdays possible for children who might otherwise go without. On 5 June, Jarige Job Foundation celebrated its 15th anniversary with a festive jubilee celebration. And we were proud to be part of it.

At Vebego Foundation, we’ve been a proud partner of Jarige Job Foundation for many years, because we believe every child deserves to feel celebrated on their birthday. A cake, a treat at school, decorations on the wall. These may seem like small things, but for thousands of children in the Netherlands, they are far from guaranteed.

During the grand celebration in Rotterdam, no fewer than 15,000 birthday boxes were packed in just two hours. An incredible result made possible by hundreds of enthusiastic volunteers who threw themselves into this extra special packing effort.

A celebration with a mission
From the cheerful outfits to the uplifting singalongs: everything about this day radiated joy. But it was more than just fun. As colleague Sandra Maas put it: “Meaningful, festive and impressively organised. Celebrating your birthday as a child isn’t always a given in the Netherlands, but thanks to Jarige Job it is – for 15 years already. It’s fantastic to be part of that.”

That genuine sense of impact was what made the day so memorable. Jacqueline Goedmakers, board member of Vebego Foundation, looked back with a smile:  “You could feel how everyone there just wanted to do something good for someone else. And in two hours we packed 15,000 boxes. We did it!”

A meaningful gift
As a foundation, we didn’t want to let this milestone go by unnoticed. That’s why we presented a camera to Jarige Job on behalf of Vebego Foundation – a gift to help capture even more of these special moments in the future. A small gesture for the major difference they’ve made over the past 15 years.

In addition, colleagues from across various Vebego companies recorded personal video messages to congratulate Jarige Job Foundation on this remarkable anniversary. A warm tribute to an organisation that means so much to so many families across the Netherlands.
