Ghisela found the courage to ask for help and feels stronger than ever

Ghisela works for Vebego Zorgservices and cleans a clinic. She does her work with dedication, but most of all, with heart. “The best part is the contact with patients,” she says. “I know they’re going through something difficult, so I try to bring a little sunshine each day. A smile, a quick chat. Something small that still makes a difference.”

But behind her smile, more was going on. At home, Ghisela was struggling. Personal problems were piling up. Still, she kept going until her supervisor asked how she was really doing. Ghisela opened up, and that was the first step.

A listening ear, an honest conversation
Her supervisor reached out to Vebego Foundation. Not long after, Ghisela sat down with someone from the foundation to look at what was needed. “They helped me,” she shares. “Not just me, but my child too. That means a lot to me.”

The support gave her room to breathe, but also confidence. “When I think about how I was a year ago and how I feel now… I’ve changed. I dare more. And I feel stronger.”

The power of being open
