Meet Alexandra, Vebego Foundation representive Germany
Since 2005, Vebego Foundation has been working towards a better tomorrow for colleagues, children and families around the world. We do this together with committed colleagues, including our board members. One of them is Alexandra, who this year joins as a new foundation representative based in Wuppertal, Germany.
Ten years at Vebego, committed from the start
Alexandra works as a Coordinator for Operational Units at Vebego Facility Services, in a staff role reporting directly to the COO. She works closely with eleven regions and celebrates her ten-year anniversary at Vebego this autumn. She first came in contact with the foundation when hectas joined the Vebego Group and from that moment on, she knew she wanted to be involved.
That sense of commitment is nothing new for her. She has volunteered at a parent-led initiative at a nursery and provided childcare for refugee children while their parents attended language classes. Small efforts, meaningful impact.
"Those experiences showed me how much of a difference you can make simply by being there for someone, especially where resources are limited and circumstances are difficult."
Outside work, Alexandra loves to travel, is mother to two children who are increasingly finding their own way in the world, and takes part in corporate runs in cities like Cologne and Amsterdam usually with a true crime podcast for company.
Turning responsibility into action
In her role as representative, Alexandra focuses on colleagues in operations. She wants them to know what the foundation does and what possibilities are available to them, with My Effort, My Project as a concrete starting point. For Alexandra, companies carry a responsibility that goes well beyond the economic.
"We talk too much about commitment and act too little. I want to change that."
Her focus is firmly on the long term. Not a one-off gesture, but lasting change that genuinely matters to people locally and across borders. The international collaboration within the foundation gives her exactly the energy to pursue that.
