All children in Belgium an unforgettable birthday
Care's sales team packed an afternoon of birthday packages for FEESTvarken vzw. This team-building activity was the start of a longer cooperation with this charity. Sales manager Chantal Moerenhout: 'Getting involved with your colleagues for underprivileged children is as heartwarming as it is confrontational.'
Add a little love
The team of 12 colleagues strong went to work one afternoon. 'That sight of shelves full of toys and party materials such as garlands and wrapping paper - it really does something to you,' says Chantal. 'To work together for a good cause is heartwarming. But also confronting: the realisation that you are making a birthday package for a child of sometimes only two years old who is growing up in poverty. Then you automatically put a little love into it.'
Clics’en In addition, Care's colleagues helped with another activity for FEESTvarken. Namely, the foundation is working on a free exhibition at the House of the Child in Nieuwpoort. There, children can come and see constructions made of Clics - flexible and colourful plastic building blocks. 'A hell of a job to put all those Clics figures together,' laughs Chantal. 'So we had a hand in that - literally - as part of our annual Care Does Day. It was on a Saturday and everyone was welcome at Care's headquarters to help build. Turnout was high and many colleagues brought their children, who enthusiastically got to work. It's nice to get such a positive response from our own people.'
On to more partnerships
The team building afternoon and contribution to the Clics exhibition is just the beginning of the collaboration with FEESTvarken. Chantal and her colleague Annemieke De Bruyne also want to bring this good cause to the attention of the other Vebego companies in Belgium. And to clients and prospects. The Vebego Foundation also supports FEESTvarken financially. Chantal: 'We welcome that wholeheartedly, of course. And in the meantime, we are already forging plans to support FEESTvarken with love and as many hands as possible in the future.'
